7:45-8:15 RISE Time/Morning Routine

• guiding principles, attendance, pledges, morning meeting, sharing, news and announcements

 

8:15-9:40 DLI/Skills

• Daily Language Instruction (DLI) teaches grammar, spelling, and proofreading. Skills teaches spelling and phonics. 

 

9:40-10:25 Writer's Workshop

• writing lesson, demonstration, independent writing, conferencing, author’s chair

10:25-10:40 Reader’s Workshop

• shared reading, independent reading, reading groups, shared inquiry, literacy stations

​

10:40-11:00 Lunch

​

11:00-11:20 Recess 

​

11:20-12:30 Math

• daily math practice, number talk, number corner, whole group lesson, independent practice, math stations, small groups

​

12:30-12:45 Snack & Read Aloud

​

12:45-1:20 Science/Social Studies

• plants and animals, air and weather, balance and motion, history, economics, geography, or civics

 

1:20-2:20 Specials

• Technology, Library, Art, Music, or PE. Specials rotate every quarter                                                                 2:25
